چکیده

Since the heroic age of Antarctic exploration, continent has been pressurized by multiple anthropogenic activities, today including research and tourism, which have led to emergence phenol pollution. Natural attenuation rates are very slow in this region due harsh environmental conditions; hence, biodegradation using native bacterial strains is recognized as a sustainable remediation approach. The aim study was analyze effectiveness degradation binary consortium soil bacteria, Arthrobacter sp. strain AQ5-06, AQ5-15. Phenol co-culture statistically optimized response surface methodology (RSM) tolerance exposure different heavy metals investigated under conditions. Analysis variance central composite design (CCD) identified temperature most significant factor that affects consortium, with optimum ranging from 12.50 13.75 °C. This able degrade up 1.7 g/L within seven days tolerated concentration high 1.9 g/L. Investigation metal revealed completed presence arsenic (As), aluminum (Al), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) at concentrations 1.0 ppm, but inhibited cadmium (Cd), silver (Ag), mercury (Hg).

Biodegradation of phenol by Antarctic strains of Aspergillus fumigatus.

Taxonomic identification of three newly isolated Antarctic fungal strains by their 18S rDNA sequences revealed their affiliation with Aspergillus fumigatus. Phenol (0.5 g/l) as the sole carbon source was completely degraded by all strains within less than two weeks. Intracellular activities of three key enzymes involved in the phenol catabolism were determined. Activities of phenol hydroxylase ...

Optimization of phenol biodegradation by efficient bacteria isolated from petrochemical effluents

Phenol is an environmental pollutant present in industrial wastewaters such as refineries, coal processing and petrochemicals products. In this study three phenol degrading bacteria from Arak Petrochemical Complex effluent were isolated which consume phenol. Molecular analysis was used to identify bacteria and isolated bacteria were identified as Rhodococcus pyridinivorans (NS1), A...

effect of the ammonium chlorideconcentration on the mineral medium composition – biodegradation of phenol by a microbial consortium

phenol and its homologues are aromatics containing hydroxyl, methyl, amide and sulphonic groups attached to the benzene ring. these molecules are both anthropogenic and xenobiotics. phenols are environmental pollutants discharged through wastewaters from various industries. phenols are toxic to several biochemical reactions. however biological transformation of phenols to non-toxic entities exi...

the impact of training on second language writing assessment: a case of raters’ biasedness

Biodegradation of Phenol by Newly Isolated Phenol-degrading Bacterium Ralstonia sp. Strain PH-S1

A newly phenol-degrading bacterium, identified as Ralstonia sp. strain PH-S1, was isolated from oil-contaminated soil in Khark Island. It was isolated by a multistep enrichment and screening technique on mineral medium (MM) containing 100 mg.l-1 of phenol as the sole source of carbon. The bacterium was able to degrade up to 1100 mg.l-1 of phenol but the cell growth decreased with higher concent...
